First off, I also vote “No”. ChefPatrick is a legend. Secondly, I’d like to say that this is a very cool video and I can’t wait to see the up-comings of this new production of domainvestors.tv

    Good job!

Looking goog Morgan. You clean up nice. Got to figure out that wind and background noise. My suggestion- hire UCLA Film Students for the ability to make a portfolio piece. An ad in Craig’s list and you’ll get them and the University’s equipment in a flash.

Thanks Owen! This is just a concept test – going to be using a pro HD cam and real mics for the actual video. This is just a test to start getting comfortable doing on-location shots. It was a LOT of fun going all over LA getting the footage. Really excited about shooting another video next weekend! Thanks for watching and I promise to keep everyone entertained!

I just want to address a few “styling issues” – hope you don’t take that personal:

    – when wearing a jacket ALWAYS close the top buttons, leaving only the last one at the bottom open

    – you might want to consider wearing a shirt with the jacket (not necessarily a tie) or just a shirt if you want the look to be more professional – or maybe a polo shirt to appear a bit more casual…combo of t-shirt+jacket = no go (IMHO)

    – talk less with your hands. it’s sometimes a bit distracting and seems a little “awkward” – especially in the scene in front of the mansion. Maybe try not to stand straight in front of the camera but in a slight angle, and put one hand in your pocket or hold some presenting cards (with your logo on the back)

All in all a very nice episode, and I’m looking forward to watching the final tv show.

    As for the poll: No.

    cheers
    John

Thanks John – appreciate the feedback. Actually got the wardrobe idea from some people I know here in LA that work with television personalities. They said that a lot of the younger hosts are doing jackets with a shirt under them – thought I’d give it a shot. When I wear a button-down I’ve had a number of comments that I look uptight – trying to look professional but relaxed at the same time 🙂

Also with the buttons this seems to be an unclear issue. Many people said that I should only button the one bottom button and that buttoning the top is no longer “in” – not sure what the general consensus is here…

As for the talking less with my hands this is a good point and I’m definitely going to pay more attention to this in future shots.

Really appreciate the feedback and keep it coming – it all helps me get better!

I vote YES. Sex appeal may sell some categories, but if you’re asking for actual conversions, then you need to be more serious about how you’re approaching your visitors. Any real businesses will not use nudity as a way to create leads. In general, I think using sex will work to make your traffic stats look good, but in the domain world, I doubt it will create very many new signups that will actually benefit your website.

    Short Answer: No.
However, I think a quick disclaimer wouldn’t hurt. “Warning this video contains adult content not suitable for children.”
